Jimmy Clanton

Jimmy Clanton is an American singer known for his contributions to the "swamp pop" genre, a blend of rock and roll, country, and R&B originating from Louisiana in the late 1950s. His career was launched by Ace Records with his 1958 hit "Just a Dream," which reached number four on the Billboard chart. Clanton's smooth, emotive vocal style and teen idol image made him a significant player in the early days of pop music. His other notable tracks include "Go Jimmy Go" and "Venus in Blue Jeans."
