Joy of Cooking was an American folk-rock band formed in Berkeley, California in 1967. Known for their blend of rock, blues, country, and jazz, the group was distinctive as one of the few rock bands fronted by female musicians, specifically Toni Brown and Terry Garthwaite. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1971, brought them to national attention. Despite breaking up in 1972, their fusion of styles and prominent female leadership left a lasting influence on the folk-rock genre.
