Quarterflash is an American rock group formed in Portland, Oregon in 1980. The band is most recognized for their signature saxophone-infused rock sound, lead by the sultry vocals of Rindy Ross, one of the few female saxophonists in rock history. They gained widespread recognition with their 1981 hit single "Harden My Heart" from their self-titled debut album. Quarterflash's blend of rock and pop, combined with their distinctive saxophone elements, made a significant contribution to the New Wave genre of the early 1980s.
