Ram Jam was an American rock band that formed in New York City in 1977. Known primarily for their hit single "Black Betty," their music blends elements of hard rock and Southern rock. The band's most notable members include Bill Bartlett, former lead guitarist of the Lemon Pipers, and Myke Scavone, who later joined The Yardbirds. Despite their short-lived career, Ram Jam's distinctive rock sound and their reinterpretation of Huddie 'Lead Belly' Ledbetter's folk song have left a lasting impact on the genre.
