Salt-N-Pepa

Salt-N-Pepa is an influential American hip-hop group formed in 1985, consisting of Cheryl James ("Salt"), Sandra Denton ("Pepa"), and initially, Latoya Hanson, who was later replaced by Deidra Roper ("DJ Spinderella"). Known for their distinctive style of female-centric rap, they pioneered a new path for women in a predominantly male genre, offering a blend of pop rap with socially conscious lyrics. Their notable works, such as "Push It" and "Let's Talk About Sex", have left a lasting impact on the hip-hop scene, and they remain one of the best-selling female rap acts with over 15 million records sold worldwide.
