Shep and the Limelites were an American doo-wop trio from Queens, New York, active in the early 1960s. The group consisted of James "Shep" Sheppard, Clarence Bassett, and Charles Baskerville, with Sheppard's distinctive lead vocals defining their sound. They are best known for their hit single "Daddy's Home", which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. Their music, which combined elements of R&B, pop, and doo-wop, continues to influence modern artists in these genres.
