Social Distortion is an American punk rock band, formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California by frontman Mike Ness. Known for their distinctive blend of punk rock with blues, country, and rockabilly influences, they are regarded as one of the pioneers in the punk rock scene of the West Coast. Their breakthrough album, "Social Distortion", released in 1990, featured the hit single "Ball and Chain", solidifying their place in the punk rock genre.
