Solaris is a significant Hungarian progressive rock band, formed in 1980. Known for their complex, symphonic style, they frequently incorporate elements of classical music and Hungarian folk themes into their compositions. The band's most influential work is perhaps their 1984 album, "Marsbéli Krónikák" (The Martian Chronicles), which has been highly regarded in international progressive rock circles. The distinct sound of Solaris is largely attributed to the virtuosic flute and keyboard playing of band member István Cziglán.
