The American Breed was an American rock band from Cicero, Illinois, active during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Known for their pop-oriented blend of rock, soul and jazz, they achieved their greatest success with the 1967 hit single, "Bend Me, Shape Me." Comprised of notable members Gary Loizzo, Charles Colbert Jr., Al Ciner, and Lee Graziano, the group carved out a distinct sound characterized by vocal harmonies and brass arrangements.
