The Black Belles, an all-female American garage rock band, was active from 2009 to 2012. Their musical style fuses elements of garage rock, punk, and blues, characterized by a dark, moody aesthetic and the haunting vocals of lead singer Olivia Jean. The band, discovered and produced by Jack White of The White Stripes, released their self-titled debut album on White's Third Man Records in 2011. Despite their short-lived career, The Black Belles were noted for their distinctive gothic image and their contribution to the resurgence of garage rock in the late 2000s.
