The Capris

The Capris are an American doo-wop group that originated in the early 1950s, most known for their hit song, "There's a Moon Out Tonight." Formed in Queens, New York, they are distinguished by their smooth vocal harmonies and rhythm-centric sound, a style that was influential in the transition between rhythm and blues and rock 'n' roll. Despite having a fluctuating lineup throughout the years, the original members included Nicholas Santos, first tenor; Mike Mincieli, second tenor; Frank Reina, baritone; Tony Danno, bass; and John Apostol, a falsetto lead singer who brought a distinctive sound to the band. Their music continues to be significant in the history of American pop culture.
