The Champs were an American rock and roll band, most well-known for their instrumental hit "Tequila" in 1958. The band's style combined elements of rock and roll, Latin, and rhythm and blues, with a signature sound marked by saxophone and guitar. Notable band members included Dave Burgess and Danny Flores, the latter of whom wrote and provided the distinctive "Tequila" shout in their famous song. Despite a number of lineup changes, The Champs continued to influence the surf music scene and their iconic hit remains a staple in pop culture.
