The Count Five was an American garage rock band active during the mid-1960s. They are best known for their 1966 hit "Psychotic Reaction", a hallmark of the garage rock genre that has been covered by numerous bands since. The band's musical style, characterized by its raw, energetic sound and heavy use of feedback, was heavily influenced by the British Invasion, particularly The Yardbirds. Despite their relatively short career, The Count Five's influence on the development of punk rock and their contribution to the genre of garage rock is significant.
