The Critters

The Critters were an American pop group in the mid-to-late 1960s, known for their soft rock and folk-influenced style. Their most significant contribution to music history was their hit singles "Mr. Dieingly Sad" and a cover of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Younger Girl", which both charted in the Billboard Hot 100. The band was primarily composed of students from Rutgers University, including lead vocalist Don Ciccone who later had a successful career with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The Critters' sound was characterized by melodic harmonies and introspective lyrics, mirroring the folk-rock movement of their era.
