The Excellents are an American doo-wop group, primarily active in the early 1960s. The group is best known for their 1961 hit, "Coney Island Baby", which showcased their distinctive harmonized vocals, characteristic of the doo-wop genre. Founded in the Bronx, New York, the original lineup included members John Kuse, George Kuse, Joel Feldman, Chuck Epstein, Phil Sanchez, and Denis Kestenbaum.
