The Glitter Band is a British glam rock group known for its distinctive percussive style and close association with the controversial figure, Gary Glitter. Originally formed in 1972 as Glitter's backing band, they gained prominence in their own right with top-ten hits like "Angel Face" and "Let's Get Together Again". Their sound, characterized by a heavy use of drums and glittering guitar riffs, played a significant part in defining the glam rock era of the 1970s. Despite their historical ties to Glitter, the band sought to distance itself from him following his legal issues, and continues to perform under the name "The G Band".
