The Monotones

The Monotones were an American doo-wop group prominent in the late 1950s, best known for their hit single "Book of Love". Originating from Newark, New Jersey, the group was comprised of lead singer Charles Patrick and his brother James, Warren Davis, George Malone, Frankie Smith and John Smith. Their music, characterized by tight harmonies and rhythmic vocal patterns, was heavily influenced by gospel and rhythm & blues of that era. Despite their brief period of success, The Monotones' "Book of Love" has endured, marking a significant contribution to the doo-wop genre.
