The Nite-Liters were an American funk and R&B band prominent in the 1970s. They were originally formed in 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky, by Harvey Fuqua and Tony Churchill. Their musical style is characterized by tight, funky rhythms and brass-heavy arrangements, reflected in hits like "K-Jee" and "Afro-Strut". Notably, several members of the Nite-Liters would go on to form the core of New Birth, a larger ensemble that continued the Nite-Liters' tradition of funk and R&B music into the late 1970s and beyond.
