The Orlons

The Orlons were an American rhythm and blues group from Philadelphia, active primarily in the 1960s. Composed of lead singer Rosetta Hightower, Marlena Davis, Shirley Brickley, and Stephen Caldwell, they were known for their doo-wop infused style and dance-oriented tracks. Their biggest hits include "The Wah-Watusi," "Don't Hang Up," and "South Street," all of which reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Orlons were significant contributors to the Philadelphia soul scene and had a significant influence on the dance music of the era.
