The Ramrods

The Ramrods were an American instrumental rock and roll band, prominent in the early 1960s. Known for their unique blend of surf and country music, the band notably incorporated the twangy sounds of the guitar, showcasing a distinctive style uncommon for the era. Although their discography was limited, they are best remembered for their hit rendition of the traditional cowboy tune, "Ghost Riders in the Sky", which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. Despite their short-lived success, The Ramrods' innovative fusion of genres had a subtle yet lasting influence on the evolution of rock music.
