The Rubettes

The Rubettes were a British pop band that rose to prominence in the mid-1970s. Their music was characterized by a blend of doo-wop, 1950s American pop, rock and roll, and contemporary British pop, distinguished by their harmonized vocals and catchy melodies. The band's most notable members were Alan Williams, John Richardson, and Tony Thorpe. Their biggest hit, "Sugar Baby Love," is often cited as a defining work in the power pop genre. Despite their relatively short-lived fame, The Rubettes exerted a significant influence on the development of 70s pop music.
