The Vels were an American new wave musical trio from Philadelphia, active primarily in the mid-1980s. Comprised of vocalist Alice Desoto, keyboardist Chris Larkin, and multi-instrumentalist Charles Hanson, the band was known for their synth-driven sound and Desoto's distinctive vocal style. Their most significant work was the 1984 single "Look My Way," which reached number 39 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. Despite their short-lived career, The Vels left an indelible mark on the American new wave scene.
