Crazy Man, Crazy/ Whatcha Gonna Do

If you've ever doubted that Bill Haley was a Rockabilly visionary—probably the first one—you won't after taking a listen to this single. This was Haley & the Comets very first chart record, which was a hit a full year before Elvis Presley & his band recorded the rockabilly classic "That's All Right" at Sun Studios. On this early single, Bill Haley's group are listed as "Haley's Comets." Also of interest is that both songs are penned by Haley, unlike most of his later singles. By the way, Essex finally put out an album collecting the Essex singles in 1955, but at this early stage this was a non-album single. Note: This beautiful copy grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), with only very minor flaws such as a few scuffs on the vinyl.
