Originally released on Polydor 15049. This is a terrific, tuneful track from Clapton's first solo album... sounding very Beatlesque, this was the first glimpse Clapton's adoring public had of the guy working outside of a rock group (you know, those little-known bands called Yardbirds, Cream, and Derek & the Dominoes). Amazingly enough, this great single failed to crack the top 40, although it did hang around the Hot 100 for 13 weeks. Note: Clapton's first LP--called just
Eric Clapton--was released in 1970, with "After Midnight" as its big hit. This single wasn't issued until 1972, in conjunction with the sort-of-greatest-hits package Polydor put out called
At His Best. This is a like-new copy of Polydor's "Timepieces" reissue.\t
