The Wagoneers are an American country music band formed in Austin, Texas in 1987. The original lineup consisted of Monte Warden on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Brent Wilson playing lead guitar, Craig Allen Peterson on bass, and Thomas A. Lewis Jr. on drums. Known for their innovative blend of traditional country, rockabilly, and honky-tonk styles, they played a significant role in the 1980s neo-traditionalist country movement. Their debut album, "Stout and High," is noted for its authentic sound and is often credited with helping to pave the way for the 1990s alternative country scene.
