Weapons of Peace was an American funk band largely active in the 1970s. The band, composed of notable members such as lead vocalist Frankie Pighee and bassist James Johnson, created a distinctive sonic blend of soul, funk, and R&B. Their signature work, a self-titled album released in 1976, was well-received for its melodic compositions and socially conscious lyrics. Although their commercial success was limited, their diverse musical style and lyrical themes made a significant contribution to the 70s funk music scene.
