 As with many of his 45s, this classic Elton John single has a previously unreleased, non-LP B side. In England, it was released with its proper title, "Scr*w You" (I put in the asterisk because when I don't, the poor spam algorithms used by most email servers that "protect" user accounts from spam will conclude that this entry contains por**graphy, and yes, I put in the asterisks again for the same reason), but in the States I guess they decided that was too blatant. :-) Note: This is a beautiful copy of the first pressing on the black/rainbow MCA label, in its original black MCA factory sleeve. The vinyl has a touch of surface noise near the beginning. The labels are Mint (sorry... the scan doesn't do it justice!) The A label is pristine, and the B label very nearly so, so I'm giving the Label grade a Mint overall rating. The vinyl looks untouched, also grading Mint. Despite my optimism given the record's appearance, however, this is yet another vinyl pressing that looks Mint but fails to sound so. (Honestly, I have had many beautiful copies of this single over the years, but I don't think I've found one yet that has pristine Mint audio. I begin to suspect quality issues with the vinyl for this release.) And yet, when I knock the grade down from Mint, that means I can hear an occasional light "pop" during the extremely quiet intro, and not later in the song: This is still Near Mint audio of collectable quality and fine for play on the radio or dance club. (When it comes to audio, I tend to grade more strictly than for the Labels and Vinyl; when I say Mint audio, I almost always mean "flawless" audio. But when I say Mint labels or vinyl, I mean "Nearly flawless." See our grading system page for more information.)
