1999/ How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original picture sleeve. How does one guy manage to accumulate so damn much talent? IMHO, Prince's abilities--as a songwriter, performer, singer, producer, and instrumentalist--surpass those of any other rock'n'soul musical prodigy you care to name, including Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Lennon-McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, George Clinton, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen. The breadth and depth of his musical output continues to amaze, as does his courage to take on his record company and his generosity in taking in so many aspiring musicians over the years. This single was Prince's first huge single, and was his breakthrough to airwave domination for the next 15 years. Note: The 45 reentered the pop charts in June 1983 and hit #12. Flip is a terrific non-LP cut.
