Here's a beautiful copy of a true Aretha rarity: The promo release for "Ain't No Way" on Atlantic 2486. "Ain't No Way" was originally the B side of Atlantic 2486, playing second fiddle in airplay and sales to the classic "(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone." However, soon after release Atlantic got the gospel about the single's amazing B side, and released the powerful Aretha performance on a separate promo 45 rpm. Not only that, they tastefully edited the 4:12 track (long for 1968!) into a "Shortened Version" clocking at 2:40! (You get the "Complete Version" on the other side.) The promotional work must paid off, because "Ain't No Way" became its own hit on the Bilozoard charts in the Spring of 1968. Incidentally, "Since You've Been Gone" sits at #359 on Dave Marsh's 1001 list... it's this original B side that's rated at #127. Another special thing about this release: Both sides are in Stereo (Compatible Mono & Stereo)! Note: This copy comes in a vintage Atlantic Records factory sleeve. The audio on this vinyl pressing is as close to Mint as you will ever hear!
