American Pie

This is a real 1970s rarity: A promo copy of the third biggest hit of 1972, the iconic "American Pie." What's so special about the promo? For one, the title has no mention of "Part I" or "Part II." That's because this promo has an edited version (4:21) that never appeared on the stock copy (or anywhere else that I know of). As such, it incorporates pieces of both Parts I and II of the stock release. Both sides of this single have a Mono mix. This ear treat grades Near Mint across the board. One side of the label has a small date of "11/71" printed in pencil. The picture sleeve grades a weak Near Mint to reflect age appropriate top edge wear, and some light ringwear/fading.
