This is a rare Byrds single from their LP
Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde, whose name is an apt metaphor for the two tunes here, as different from each other as can be. Since the 45 didn't chart, it's difficult to say for certain which is the A side, but certainly the demand for the single is generated mainly by "Bad Night," and it's listed as the A side in many discographies. Still, I suspect that "Drug Store.." may have gotten more airplay, as it fits more neatly into the Country Rock Byrds mold. "Bad Night.." is an awesome Psych/Garage Rocker with Roger McGuinn putting forth on guitar at his druggy best, with lots of sharp moments that fans of the genre crave. Fortunately for fans of "Bad Night..", the original owner of this 45 put most of their spin time on "Drug Store," whose audio is lowered to EX owing to styrene-related degradation. I'm happy to report that the audio on "Bad Night.." is very close to Mint. We're using that grade for the overall audio score. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. The labels grade very close to Mint, and the vinyl (styrene) grades Near Mint as well.
