Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original Arista factory sleeve. This was the single that finally jump-started Ocean's career... a terrific rip-off of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean." And I mean that in the most complimentary sense of "rip-off", as in "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." And while "Caribbean Queen" doesn't reach the heights of perfection as a Pop song of whatever genre that "Billie Jean" does, it's still deserving of my highest recommendation — that is, 2 stars. The B side is an instrumental version. By the way, the A side is a specially edited version of a 5:04 album cut... Concentrated goodness!
