Crazy Man, Crazy/ Whatcha Gonna Do

If you've ever doubted that Bill Haley was a rockabilly visionary?probably the first one--you won't after taking a listen to this single. This was Haley & the Comets very first chart record, which was a hit a full year before Elvis Presley & his band recorded the rockabilly classic "That's All Right" at Sun Studios. On this early single, Bill Haley's group are listed as "Haley's Comets." Also of interest is that both songs are penned by Haley, unlike most of his later hits. Note: This single is from a large collection we've purchased whose records typically have mint audio and near-mint vinyl. The labels are near mint as well, but the owner had a habit of writing a date in small print on the B side label.
