This terrific number — a collaboration with Eurythmics producer/writer Dave Stewart — was Petty's first single for MCA... and became the second highest-charter of his career until then. I believe the female background vocalist must be Annie Lennox, given Dave Stewart's involvement. This rare release has the full 5:06 album track on the A side, whereas the primary stock release and the promos have a 4:19 edit. Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is nearly flawless!
