This single, the first track on Jackson's great
Off The Wall album, introduced us to a Michael Jackson we hadn't heard before — one that would prove to be a high-water mark, indicative of the very best grooves he would deliver in the decade to come. Listening to it again reminds you just how talented he was, and how amazing this first post-adolescent, self-penned Jackson single this is. This promo has two versions, both in Stereo: One is the same "Long Version With Rap" that's on the retail copy (a 5:45 edit of the 6:02 album cut), and the other is the "Short Version With Rap", which clocks in at 3:55. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Epic Records factory sleeve. Audio on the "Long" side is EX, but that on the "Short" side is M-.
