Getting Mighty Crowded/ Chained To A Memory (Why Am I?)

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in a vintage Vee Jay Records factory sleeve. I first heard this great Van McCoy tune in a cover version by Elvis Costello, who had released it in 1980 on an obscure single and then on the "Taking Liberties" LP collection. What a treat to hear the glorious Mint audio on this original 1964 version by Betty Everett! Check out the mp3 "snippet" in our "jukebox." By the way, this was a non-album single. Note: This 45 record, though new, has notable storage wear on the labels, which separately grade a strong EX in appearance (see scan). The vinyl has very light storage wear as well, grading Near Mint. After a good cleaning, the audio sounds pristine Mint!
