Jack Scott has a very uneven catalog, divided roughly into slow (some would say dragging) numbers and uptempo rockabilly numbers. Typically his singles have one of each, but on this one (Scott's only entry in Dave Marsh's top 1,001 list), you get two of his rockabilly-style tracks. Besides the well known A side, the flip is a marvel of rockabilly with one of its roots--gospel/RnB--prominently on display. Note: Credits include 'The Chantones' vocal group. This copy is from a large purchase we've made from a defunct record store, which had a practice of putting labels on the sleeves (including this picture sleeve) that identify the title, artist, and year of release.
