Originally released on MGM 10229, and on several labels after that. Smith became known as "Guitar Boogie" Smith, and the Virtues took a rocking version of his classic to the charts in 1960 as "Guitar Boogie Shuffle." This amazing tour de force undoubtedly inspired a lot of the country guys who also loved Rhythm and Blues in the early 1950's... folks like Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, and Carl Perkins. This excellent take is, I believe, from the early 1970's.
