This classic single features a bright and tuneful McCartney song on the A side and one of John Lennon's immortal psychedelic rock concoctions on the flip. (It's "Walrus" that gets a 2-star rating from us.) The 45 comes in a beautiful copy of this release's picture sleeve. This is the first pressing, on the yellow/orange "swirl" label with "Mfd. By Capitol..." as white perimeter print; publishing is credited to "Maclen Music, Inc." on both sides. Note: The picture sleeve grades Near Mint on the "Walrus" side (see scan) but EX on the "Hello Goodbye" side, reflecting a couple of storage-related wrinkles near the top; hence, it gets an overall grade of EX+. The labels grade EX, reflecting very light, mostly outer-ringwear and a tiny "D.C" inked on the B side. The vinyl is EX, displaying some light scuffing. The audio is difficult to grade, because the two sides differ in quality: The A side grades Near Mint (broadcast quality), but the flip grades a strong EX, reflecting very light surface noise audible during the first few spins but rarely thereafter. Overall, I'm grading the audio a strong Excellent.
