From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve. This is a truly remarkable 45, for two reasons. First, Robert John doing a cover of "Hushabye" as the followup to his huge hit, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which was a cover of a similar doo-wop number from the same era as "Hushabye"... you'd probably expect that it's a similarly note-for-note remake, wouldn't you? Well, if so you're in for a big, very pleasant surprise! Because this "Hushabye" shares little with the original but some gorgeous vocals... The second thing is that this single's B side is a terrific, midtempo Sunshine Pop number that could have been a hit on its own. Where "Hushabye" is dreamy and slow, "To Touch" is poppy and bright. Wow, I'm in heaven in anticipation of getting both of these into my iTunes library, folks. :-) Note that both tracks are produced by the Tokens themselves, which probably explains why I love 'em so much!
