This is a truly
great record... not to be missed! Not only do you get the fantastic original version of the classic that the Stones were quick to cover and hit with just a month later, but on the Sam Cooke-penned flip is an absolute gemâ€â€a shining example of the blending of doo-wop and soul, which just happens to be one of my very favorite (though still unnamed) genres. In fact, I give both of these tracks 5 stars in my iTunes library, which translates to a 2-star recommendation on Classic 45s (our highest). By the way, the group made no albums, only a handful of singles. Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels with a light touch of ringwear (see scan). The vinyl looks likewise Near Mint, with just a couple of notable scuffs. The A side audio is Near Mint, with a little surface noise in the first few bars but clear, strong audio thereafter. Unfortunately, the B side audio suffers from some more notable surface noise, a little each spin, grading a strong EX. The overall audio grade is for the A side only.
