Liar/ Schoolgirl

This is a promo copy of Argent's first U.S. single, which unaccountably dropped like a stone on radio playlists... The A side is the stunningly great original version of a tune Three Dog Night took to the top 10 a few years later, and the flip sounds just like something the Zombies would have done. The menacing tone of "Liar" comes to a head in some amazing keyboarding and guitar work later in the track... I've included some of it in the mp3 snippet. Rod Argent, the group's leader, was formerly leader and songwriter for the Zombies. Note: Despite the markings on the A side of this label, the B side label is beautifully clean. The audio is a clean M- on both sides.\r\n
