Our Love (Is In The Pocket)/ Sweet Sherry

Originally released on Revilot 222. This fine reissue, featuring a faux-reproduction of the Groovesville label (another Detroit label on which Barnes recorded), features the track that is J.J. Barnes highest-ranking song in Kev Roberts' top 500 list, coming in at #33. The flip side is another great northern soul number that didn't appear on 45 rpm back in the 1960's, but which could've been a single in its own right. It's interesting to note that the A side here is the exact same recording as the one Revilot released in 1966 with Darrel Banks doing the vocals. Appearing on the flip of his classic "Open the Door To Your Heart," that version is every bit as good as this one, but somehow it hasn't attained the lust status that this one has among northern soul collectors.
