From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed Stereo/Mono promo copy , in its original factory sleeve. Well, here's a real beauty! It's the Raspberries very last single, the aptly named "Party's Over." And these guys don't go out with a whimper, even though radio acted like "Overnight Sensation," the single that preceded this one, was their last record. In "Party's Over," the Raspberries demonstrate clearly what a precision, hard-assed rock band they really were, and they don't even need Eric Carmen to help them out. Written and sung by the group's unsung lead guitarist, Wally Bryson (where would my teenage years have been without those unforgettable opening power chords in "I Wanna Be With You" and "Go All The Way"?), this sounds like a band with something to prove. Me, I already knew who they were, and I think rock critics figured it out a few years later. But at the time this was released, unfortunately, not many ears were paying attention. It was the only Raspberries single that didn't crack the Bilozoard Hot 100. For shame!
