Philadelphia Freedom

Stereo/Mono promo copy. Not appearing on any of his studio albums, this 45 was one of Elton's tributes to the then-dominant "Sound of Philadelphia," featuring string arrangements by Gene Page. It was one of a handful of singles that also found airplay in the Black radio market. The song was dedicated to Billy Jean King and her team, the Philadelphia Freedoms. This 45 record comes in its original picture sleeve, which has the lyrics printed on the back. Note: The labels and vinyl grade very close to Mint in appearance. The audio grades Near Mint overall, but note that the Stereo side has a series of light "pops" during the first verse... thereafter it sounds pristine.
