As Dave Marsh notes by placing this single WAY UP at #123 in his list of the 1001 greatest 45's ever, this is an absolutely essential touchstone in the history of rap and hip-hop. Rolling Stone also includes the song in its Top 500 list, at #240. Not only is it an important single to own as part of a complete Rap/Hip-Hop collection, it's also extremely difficult to find, especially on 45 rpm and in this condition. The B side is an instrumental version. This copy's A side is labeled the "Radio Version" and clocks slightly longer than the original release. The LP version is 7:30.
