Originally released on Bell 237. Now here's a really interesting item I hadn't heard before. Everyone (well, everyone who's attended a major Hockey event in the last decade or so) knows that Gary Glitter's 1972 hit, "Rock and Roll Part 2" has become a major sports anthem, along with such foot-stompers as Queen's "We Will Rock You." So, in the mid-1990s, Tommy Boy Records —with help in manufacturing from the reissue label Collectables — had the bright idea of remixing the track to add crowd noises, to mimic the way the song sounds live in the stadium. They even manage to work in a call-and-response segment! This single has the same version on both sides. Note: The 1972 original got to #7 on the U.S. pop chart.
