Originally released on Decca 32729. This is the out-of-print mid-1970's repressing on MCA. I'm putting a snippet of both tracks into the jukebox, partly in honor of the band's recent recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, accepted by the two surviving members, Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend. The A side snippet shines with a rock'n'roll majesty that just isn't heard today, and the snippet from the Tommy Overture clearly demonstrates why Pete Townshend is put in the very top tier of rock guitarists. Note: The A side has a clean sticker that says "sample copy" (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)
