Shake Your Hips/ Midnight Blues

This terrific, catchy Blues rocker didn't get as much attention at the time as Harpo's previous 1966 single, "Baby Scratch My Back," but a Rolling Stones cover (on their "Exile On Main St." album) made sure it wouldn't be forgotten. This is the first time I've heard the original release, and it's easy to see why the Stones plucked it from obscurity. Note: This copy isn't much to look at (scratches, writing and ringwear on the labels, and very scuffed up vinyl), but if you can tolerate some light background hiss, the sound is Excellent: Strong, undistorted and mostly free of "pops."
