Way back in 1965, before there was a British group "Faces", even before they were "Small Faces," and also before "New Faces" had recorded, there was an obscure U.S. band called The Faces that managed to press a handful of singles in the mid-1960s, all in the rough-and-ready, but also tuneful, Garage Rock sound. "Skier Jones" sounds just like something the early New Colony Six might have recorded, or perhaps the Kingsmen or Trashmen. Well worth a visit for fans of the genre! Note: This is a pristine Mint white-label promo copy on the small Reginal label. (I have never seen a retail copy of this release, so it may have been a promo-only 45.) The labels are so close to flawless I'm grading them Mint, and this styrene pressing's audio is absolutely flawless. I'm grading the vinyl (styrene) Near Mint to reflect a few faint indications of storage wear, but I consider the record Mint overall.
